Vista Pro SP2 + VS 2008 Pro.NET 3.5 + Crystal Reports 2008 Trial Version (12.2.290) is my environment. All updates and service packs are installed. I'm trying to uninstall the Trial version of Crystal Reports and return to native VS 2008 version of Crystal Reports Basic but can't. No matter what I do, the repair mode installation for VS 2008 fails with error: A problem has been encountered while loading the setup components.

Canceling setup. Hi Ebassador, Thank you for your post. Some clarification with you: How did you repair Visual Studio 2008? Based on your description, it seems that you have upgraded your Visual Studio 2008 to SP1, right? If we need to repair Visual Studio 2008 once SP1 has been applied or wish to change which features are installed, we should not run setup.exe from the original installation media. Please open the Control Panel and go to Add/Remove Programs, or on Vista click on the 'Uninstall a program' link under Programs.
